Keller Golf Course restoration wins MAWD Project of the Year
Ecological restoration work on Maplewood’s Keller Golf Course earned Project of the Year honors from the Minnesota Association of Watershed Districts at the organization’s annual meeting held Dec. 1 in Alexandria. Course Superintendent Paul Diegnau joined us to accept the award, recognizing a 15-year partnership that has created substantial urban wildlife habitat while protecting the Phalen Chain of Lakes from runoff.
“From my perspective, Keller Golf Course is setting an example for others to follow,” said Diegnau. “By exposing golfers to our vast natural areas and incredible pollinator habitat, I hope they see how well the game of golf can co-exist with the environment – and that opportunities abound for landscape improvements, both big and small.”
Save the Date!
WaterFest 2018 will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, from 11 AM until 4 PM.
This free family festival is held annually along the shore of Lake Phalen in St. Paul.
